Research Practices

Here are a few pages of my sketch book showing my researching into different methods of creating new and exciting jewellery and accessories.

Using laser cutting really inspires me, after doing my research i have found some really interesting ways of creating new and exciting shapes and textures inspired by sea life and the coral reef. I feel it is a good platform to start developing my ideas on further to see how far i can push them to create really exciting and new accessories.

The unique shapes on tropical fish really allows me to expand much further my designs into unique shapes and textures.

Sun glasses are also a possibility as it can be a simple shape of the sun glasses and then shapes can be layered up to create the effect of the sea life and the coral.

If i were to create jewellery i would want it to be more like body jewellery, this would be more unique and really stand out. Whilst doing my research these are the most simple to my ideas that i have found yet they are still very different, so my designs will be new and no other design the same or even slightly similar.

When i begin my sampling and designing i could look into layering and what layering different colours would look like if the colours were taken from the fish or if it would be better just to keep the natural colour palette, very neutral colours and just take the inspiration from the tropical fish for the shapes that could be possibly laser cut out.
